Government of the Punjab Finance Department has issued Notification No.SO(B&E-II)6-6/2016 on 12-09-2018 in connection with Clarification of Encashment Leave Preparatory to Retirement.
I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and state that cases have come to the notice wherin filed offices have submitted requests for encashment of LPR in respect of the retired/retiring employees merely verifying that “365 days leave is available in the leave account of the retiring employee” ignoring the fact that it has also be ascertain that the leave take during the last year of the service by the retiring employee (whether on superannuation or premature basis). has to be debited from the period, for which enchashment of leave has to be sanctioned.
2. It is therefore, requested that in future, all cases of leave enchashment must be supported with documentary proof of all leave taken during the last year of service by the incumbent, whether retired on superannuation or premature basis.
